Ms. Murray Needs Help!
Ms. Murray is looking for volunteers to help face paint on field day. Primary grades 9:45-11:30. Intermediate grades 1:30-3:15. The designs will be simple and easy. Supplies and step by step guides will be provided. It's easy, really! Please email Erica_Murray@hcpss.org
Field Day is Coming!
Field Day is going to be held on Tuesday, May 16th. The rain date is Tuesday, May 23rd. We need adults to volunteer. Volunteers may begin to select stations on the Sign Up Genius site. The Forest Ridge Field Day has always been fun for all those involved, won't you join us?

Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be No Green Team Table at the FRES Carnival this year. Please enjoy the many other activities and treats available on this fun day.
5th Grade Simulated Congressional Hearing (SCH)
The Fifth Grade Team is looking for judges for their Simulated Congressional Hearing (SCH) on Wednesday, May 24th. During SCH students will assume the role of constitutional experts. The students will present prepared oral testimony before a panel of simulated congressional committee members (“judges”). Training will be provided the morning of the 24th. This opportunity is open to all community members, especially those with a connection to our local or national government. Parents of Incoming Kindergarten Children
"Kindergarten, Here We Come" is a 45-60 minute class sponsored by the Howard County Library System for children entering Kindergarten this fall. The class features stories and activities to help mark that all important first day, including boarding a real school bus. View the flyer
Scratch Programming
Are you interested in introducing your child to computer programming? Scratch Day is coming to Howard Community College on May 21st, 1-4 pm! Scratch is a free visual programming language developed by the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Media Lab, and used by students, scholars, teachers, and parents to easily create animations, games, etc. It provides a stepping stone to the more advanced world of computer programming. This year both educator and student (gr 4-12) training sessions are being offered. HowGirlsCode is proud to partner with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and the National Security Agency to offer another year of Mind, Body & Coding camp for girls entering grades 3-9. Girls will challenge their minds through coding and robotics and will nurture their bodies and well-being through yoga, meditation, and self-empowerment exercises all while focusing on the arts and creative dance expression. Session 1 runs July 10-14 and Session 2 runs July 17-21. The camp day is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with supervised drop-off beginning at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up ending at 4:00 p.m. Discount code available for HowGirlsCode class alumni and generous scholarships are given for FARMS students.
