From Our Reading Specialists
G’readings FRES Families,

The Forest Ridge annual Book Swap is quickly approaching! With your permission, your child can bring in books that are in good condition (no tears, watermarks, etc.) along with the Book Swap form (sent home on Thursday) between Tuesday, May 30 through Friday June 9th.  On Monday, June 12th your child will be able to choose a different book(s) to take home. This is a great way to recycle books and to get different books to read over the summer.

Criteria for Swapped Books:

  • Appropriate Subject Matter for Elementary School

  • No Books of Religious Content (HCPSS policy 8070)

  • No ABC Books or Board Books

Your child will be able to take the same number and type of books home as s/he brings to school.  To ensure fair swaps, books will be categorized as:  Picture Books, Early Chapter Books, Novels, or Non-Fiction.  For example, if your child brings in 2 picture books and 1 early chapter book, s/he will be able to swap for 2 different picture books and 1 different early chapter book to bring home. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Vaughn-Smith, Matthew_Vaughn-Smith@hcpss.org or Ms. Darden, Nikia_Darden@hcpss.org
