Dear Families,
The kindergarten teachers will be informally assessing students for the 2016-2017 school year on Thursday August 18th from 9:00am-3:30pm in 30 minute sessions. We will be assessing alphabet letters and sounds, counting and number identification, and taking time to get to know students in small group settings. This assessment information will help us to group students for reading and math instruction. Please sign up for a 30 minute session for your child. If you are unable to attend a testing time do not worry! We will be able to assess your student during the first week of school. We will begin the school year with tentative groupings to allow teachers to get to know all children socially, emotionally, and academically. Official classes will be made after the first two weeks of school.
